International Day of Peace

International Day of Peace is annually observed on September 21 globally. In 1981, the United Nations General Assembly declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.

2020’s theme was “Shaping Peace Together” to create solidarity and cooperation across borders, sectors and generations through compassion, kindness and hope in the face of the global pandemic.

Peace Accelerators believes the International Day of Peace will be the first global holiday Planet Earth will celebrate in unison. By sharing this belief and recognizing the occasion, we can accelerate a planetary realization that we are one species and collectively transcend our differences to work towards a peaceful, resilient, and prosperous future.
